OUR RIGOROUS PROCESS
When you hire Testa Search Partners, here is what you can expect:
Step 1: Define Objectives and Develop Search Strategy
- Through discussion with the Hiring Manager, review job need and discuss existing job summary to create a great first impression with candidates
- Assess job requirements, educational qualifications and certifications, scope of responsibilities, ideal candidate attributes, reporting structure, first year milestones and success factors, and compensation range
- Discuss client’s work environment and corporate culture, assessing what type of person tends to thrive in the organization
- Discuss timeline, a plan to communicate results and receive feedback, and other expectations for working together
- Develop the recruiting messaging – why this opportunity is interesting – and determine target industries and employers to find passive candidates
Step 2: Recruit, Evaluate and Present Candidates
- Perform a deep dive into various sources including internal database, referrals from our utility, engineering, and technology network, and other search techniques such as job databases, social media, specialized industry websites, and our network of 500 global recruiting firms
- Use multiple methods of contact to engage and interest candidates – email, text, video, phone
- Perform rigorous screening and thorough evaluation process of each candidate, assessing key competencies, personality and cultural fit, work history, aptitude, interest in the opportunity, and compensation expectations
- As needed, request and assess candidate job samples and work products (writing sample, sample project plan, website they developed, etc.)
- Coach candidates on resume enhancements, if required
- Present first viable candidate profile and resume to client and obtain initial client feedback to refine search and evaluation techniques, if needed
- Continue vetting candidates and evaluate top candidates against each other and against the job requirements and present 3-4 candidate profiles and resumes for each job opening
- Obtain feedback from client and determine which candidates will be interviewed
Step 3: Client and Candidate Interviews
- Organize and schedule initial and subsequent job interviews, and prepare the candidate to ensure they are ready for the job interview
- Prepare client for the job interview – help the hiring manager “sell” the candidate on the opportunity and also help hiring manager resolve any concerns raised by the candidate
- Debrief with candidate and client, refresh client on candidate’s compensation expectations, and work with client to select top candidate(s)
Step 4: Selection Procedure
- Coordinate final round of interviews, if required, preparing both candidate and client
- Partnering with the client, discuss strategy to secure finalist
- As required, check references and verify background
Step 5: Candidate Placement and Follow Up
- Extend job offer to candidate and resolve any issues or concerns
- Negotiate offer and resolve any remaining issues, and coach candidate through the counteroffer process
- Follow-up with client and candidate to ensure candidate’s first day is a positive experience
- Communicate hiring decision with all other candidates
- Maintain contact with the hired candidate and client during first few weeks
